I received this email today from the Olson Campaign:

Dear Friends,

Our campaign is coming off a great weekend in Washington County!

Even though we face a more experienced, better-known politician, our message of real change is resonating with audiences across the 6th Congressional District.

Ending the Iraq War, breaking our dependence on Middle Eastern oil, providing health care to every American and creating an economy that works for all Americans won't happen with more of the same tepid Washington politics that created this mess in the first place.

If we want to create real change, we must commit to shaking up the status quo starting right now.

I truly believe that Bob Olson represents that change. He has not been afraid to tell it like it is even if that means ruffling a few feathers within the Democratic Party itself. In all of my contacts with Bob, I have yet to hear him reverse a position or speak in Washington double talk. While Mr. Tinklenberg is a likeable character he also represents the career politician and has been prone in this campaign to overstating reality. Given the choice between two career politicians, both of which have or have previously held conservative positions, there will only be one result and that is two more years of one of the most egregious characters ever to hold public office.

As your next congressman, I will work to end the Iraq War—not fund it.

As your next congressman, I will never vote for an energy bill loaded up with giveaways to billion-dollar companies like ExxonMobil. By empowering entrepreneurs and farmers in the Midwest, we can end our reliance on dictators in the Mideast.

As your next congressman, I will ensure that health care is treated like the birthright it is. No American should ever have to choose between seeing their doctor or going to the grocery store.

As your next congressman, I will introduce a Working Families Bill of Rights to ensure that Congress pays as much attention to our friends on Main Street as it does to the barons on Wall Street.

We face a long, tough road to November. Entrenched special interests will attempt to block us at every turn, but I know that if we stand together and fight back we will not fail.

Thank you so much for your support. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at info@bobolson.org or 763.463.9671.

Sincerely,
Bob Olson

In other news, Blue Man is doing an amazing job of keeping us informed on the goings on in the 6th District.

Olson responds to Tinklenberg's claims

The interesting part of this post:

Mr. Tinklenberg accuses our campaign of negative campaigning, citing numerous blogs and other casual media sources. The important questions and vetting of candidates is being done by loyal party activists across the 6th Congressional District.

I cannot speak for others, but there is no campaign that has directed me to write the stories I have written. Bob Olson was gracious enough to come out to my house and ask for my support. However, this blog is controlled by no campaign or organization and if the Tinklenberg campaign doesn't want to ostracize this blog and others that could be used as a tool for getting out his message then he really ought to watch what he says.

After being told by "The Luddite" that blogs will not decide this election, the Tinklenberg campaign ought to rethink its position on the power of the blogosphere as it appears to be causing significant trouble for the anointed candidate.

Tinklenberg continues to strain his relationship with the truth

Blue Man money quote:

Anointing candidates, squelching debate, and back room deals are not the staples of our party, the Democratic Party. If we continue this trend, we'll certainly lose this race in the 6th, regardless of who the candidate is, and we'll be 0-5 doing it "your way".

Tinklenberg Campaign does not heart Two Putt Tommy

Frustration and lashing out does not make for a good campaign!
